Recent releases of Console2 have a tab editor under Settings -> Tabs where you can specify templates for each kind of tab and which shell to use, etc. You can also create shortcuts to Console2 telling it to launch one of the tabs when it opens - by default, the tab template at the top of the list in settings is used.
